The Six Sigma Approach
September 17, 2008The method of organizational change I plan to use for my final project will be the Six Sigma Approach. The Six Sigma approach is used across many industries as a method of organizational change. This approach has borrowed many ideas from TQM, or total quality management. This methodology originally arose at Motorola more than a quarter of a century ago. Based on scientific methods, this approach is designed to improve manufacturing processes. Today, the six Sigma approach is used to solve problems by improving processes in many types of industries.
Ok — this method is yours to explore! I look forward to hearing and reading about what you see in the literature now on this method and your assessment of its pros and cons based on the material presented in Burke and your own outside reading.
